Confusion surrounds the rules for Waverley this evening after PM Boris Johnson's announcement that much of the South East is to be placed into a new Tier Four lockdown over Christmas.

Waverley Borough Council Deputy Leader and Godalming Town Council Leader Paul Follows has told Nub News it is "pretty certain" Waverley will remain in Tier Two, and will be 'the border' with the neighbouring Tier Four areas.

"But the issue will be residents now border Tier Four, and so (a) should we still be T2 with this change and (b) that jump over the border in terms of rules is now huge," he said.

He is due to join other local government leaders in a call later this evening.
