A message from Godalming Town Council Leader Paul Follows as we prepare to enter another lockdown.

By now everyone will be aware that Lockdown 2.0 is on its way from this Thursday.

We are also starting to get further updates on some of the details from the government. The first of which was a ministerial call for local government that I attended on Sunday afternoon. I outlined this further on Facebook yesterday evening here, and there will be more to follow on that as and when Waverley get further information.

Today I wanted to talk about shopping locally and making sure we support our local businesses through this challenging time. Many of which have also been extraordinarily generous and community-spirited during this difficult period.

Waverley Borough Council, Godalming Town Council and the Godalming and District Chamber of Commerce have been running a #ShopLocal campaign for many months now, through the first lockdown and beyond. I wanted to remind residents and businesses of some of the support that is out there.
