Autumn colours are on their way at Winkworth

By The Editor 22nd Sep 2020

To celebrate the official first day of autumn today, the National Trust have kindly shared this album of pictures taken during the most colourful season at Winkworth Arboretum.

Visitors can follow in the footsteps of Winkworth's creator, Dr Fox, on a walk which takes in the best autumnal views, following a specially created route to appreciate the rainbow-hued hillside as its creator intended.

You need to book tickets in advance to visit: click here. Dogs are welcome all year round.

The arboretum was recently awarded the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award.

General Manager Mike Leigh said: "We are delighted to have received the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award. It's such a privilege to be placed within the top 10% of attractions worldwide.

"As the National Trust's only arboretum, Winkworth is a special place for visitors, and this award really demonstrates that.

"I'd like to thank our hardworking staff and volunteers who keep it in working order, allowing visitors to enjoy their visit whatever the season."
