Community store launches appeal for laptops and iPads

Volunteers at the Godalming Community Store have started collecting unwanted laptops and iPads to be passed on to local schools for use by pupils who are working remotely during the pandemic, or for use in the classroom.

Anyone wishing to donate an iPad is asked to return it to factory settings before handing it in. Volunteers at the store will check this has happened and that the equipment is ready for use.

Hard drives will be wiped by an IT specialist before they are passed on to the schools.

Items can be dropped off at the Wilfrid Noyce Centre during the store's opening hours – 10.30am to 12.30pm, Monday to Friday. To arrange for an item to be picked up, contact an admin on the Godalming and Villages Community Coronavirus Assistance page on Facebook.
