Forecast snow fails to arrive - disappointingly, we got heavy rain instead
Godalming's expected snow failed to materialise this morning as the forecasters got it wrong - and instead we got sleet and heavy rain.
This morning's downpour led to some small areas off localised flooding, but no disruption as was anticipated should it have fallen as snow.
The River Wey through Godalming is running high, but not enough to disrupt walks through the Phillips Memorial Park, although some parts of the path have large puddles.
And shoppers in the Waitrose car park in Bridge Street will want to be careful where they leave their cas, as a large puddle is covering a central section of the car park.
