Trying to get a Covid-19 test is 'like trying to book Glastonbury tickets', according to one Godalming resident.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, told Nub News she had been trying to book a test for her neighbour via the Government website, without success.
She was responding to the news that tests were being carried out at a centre set up on a car park at The Wharf this week.
"The Wharf is empty currently," she said. "Waste of time it being there. We've all been trying to get [my neighbour] a test - it's impossible.
"As a consequence his wife, a teacher, can't go to work and [his] children can't go to school!"
The government has faced widespread criticism over a backlog of tests as laboratories struggle to cope with demand.
Some people are being asked to travel hundreds of miles to get tested, while others report long waits to get onto the booking system website.
UK labs are also struggling with a huge rise in demand - 170,000 tests a day are being processed, up from 100,000 in mid-June.
Baroness Dido Harding, head of NHS Test and Trace in England, has apologised for the situation, but has insisted the "vast majority" of people could still get appointments close to their homes and places oof work.
What's your experience? Have you been unable to book a test? Are you having to self-isolate as a precaution? Let us know!
