There is still time to have your say in the public consultation on plans to sell off an area of Broadwater School playing fields to extend the Godalming Leisure Centre car park.
The consultation, which opened at the beginning of October, closes on Friday, 13th November.
Godalming Nub News reported on plans to extend the leisure centre in September.
Waverley says extra parking spaces will help to alleviate parking problems at the centre, especially at peak times. The extra parking is part of a wider proposal to the leisure centre itself to cope with an expected rise in people using it over the next 15 years, the authority says.
Surrey County Council plans to apply to the Department for Education to obtain Secretary of State approval for consent for the land, which measures just under 4,000 sq m, to be used for parking.
The plans seek to grant a lease of 99 years to Waverley Borough Council. In return, Waverley will contribute to the cost of a new 3G pitch at the school.
