Do you know any unsung heroes? If so, you might think they deserve an award from the mayor.

Godalming Mayor Penny Rivers is seeking nominations for this year's Mayor's Award for Volunteers.

The award recognises local people who volunteer their time and skills in Godalming and Farncombe for the benefit of the community and the town. Since it began in 2005, more than 70 people have received the award.

Cllr Rivers said: "This has been a challenging year, but many residents have stepped up to help others, and it is right to acknowledge that and to say thank you."

Recipients will be presented with a framed certificate and a small token of gratitude and their names will be added to the Honours Board at the Wilfrid Noyce Centre.

To nominate someone for an award, download this formform from the Godalming Town Council website or call the town council offices on 01483 523575. Completed forms should be sent the town council offices at 107-109 High Street, Godalming, Surrey GU7 1AQ or emailed.

Nominations must be received by Monday, 12th April.
