Work will re-start on the Thakeham building site at Ockford Ridge on Monday.
The site was closed down yesterday after a worker was diagnosed with Coronavirus. Several of his colleagues are now in isolation as a precaution.
Thakeham said in a statement issued today: "The site has been closed since Thursday whilst we carried out a comprehensive deep clean following a colleague's positive COVID-19 test.
"The deep clean followed the latest Government, Public Health England and Construction Council guidance. Thank you to everyone for their hard work and support."
Anne-Marie Rosoman, Waverley Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Safety, said: "We are delighted that our building contractor, Thakeham, will be reopening its site at Whitebeam Way, Ockford Ridge on Monday 14 September.
"We have been impressed by their commitment to safety, their transparency and openness and the speed with which they have acted during the response to one of their employees having tested positive to Covid-19.
"We do not believe the employee in question posed a risk to the public, and our thoughts are with him and wishes for a speedy recovery.
"We now look forward to the scheduled completion and handover of the new homes, in just a few weeks' time."
