Police seized two quad bikes after being called to reports of riders causing damage on private land and in woodland in Hascombe yesterday.

Complaints about noise and damage caused by the bikes prompted officers to visit the site off Nore Lane. Similar reports have been made by landowners and residents in Dunsfold, and police say they are working to deal with the problem.

The Cranleigh-based officers seized the two bikes on suspicion of being stolen.

A third rider was issued with a Section 59 warning.

Section 59 of the Police and Reform Act 2002 is a warning placed on both the driver and the bike due to anti-social use. If the rider commits a similar offence within the next 12 months they are liable to be reported for summons, or arrested, and the bike will be seized.
