The fundraising festive lights display in Catteshall Lane have been such a runaway success this year that homeowner Richard is now looking to leave them on until Valentine's Day.

We reported that Richard Atkinson was considering leaving the 'Winter Glow' display up through January if he reached his fundraising target before 00:01 on January 1st.

He is raising funds for The Meath with the display - the final one, as he plans to move away from the area this year.

Richard told Godalming Nub News: "I'm pleased to say that we did indeed make that target. With just five days left, we're now aiming for £1,000 before 00:01 on February 1st, in which case the lights will remain for a final two weeks until 14th February. So, assuming we can make it that far, they'll go off for the final ever time on Valentine's Day. "We are currently at a total of £932.00 - £572 online and £360 in cash

donations - so hopefully we can make this target."
