Godalming Theatre Group's virtual autumn production - Two - raised an impressive £3,042.50 for the Godalming Community Store.

Jenny Seddon from the group told Nub News:"We think we raised more but a number of donations were made directly and anonymously, so all in all an extremely healthy total to be able to hand over to such a great cause in our town."

The group filmed the play at The Star pub in Petworth, with social distancing rules and ensuring the piece was filmed in a Covid-secure way making it a challenging experience.

But audiences loved the show - which was made available to view online on October 31st - so much that the group obtained a special licence to show it again in November.

Fired with the success of the production, Jenny says the group is now planning another online show.

"We are already looking for the next piece and location to use for another filming as it is likely the amateur theatre scene isn't quite ready to fully return just yet," she said.

In the meantime members have recorded some Christmassy content for their YouTube channel to help get you in the festive mood!
