Waverley asks for patience as bins go uncollected

Waverley Borough Council has asked residents to be patient as sickness among bin crews at its contractor Biffa has resulted in collections running late.

The council has Tweeted: "Please be patient and leave your bins out until they are emptied.

"Thank you for your patience and co-operation."

The message came after complaints from residents that their bins had been left at the kerbside after the council's rearranged Christmas and new year collection schedule faltered.

Godalming Town Council Leader and Waverley deputy leader Paul Follows said he had received reports of missed collections from a number of roads, including Elizabeth Road, More Road, Warren Road, Tudor Road and Tudor Circle, and had spoken to Waverley about the problem. Some roads have since had their bins collected.

Godalming Nub News has approached Waverley for comment.
