A Yellow Warning for rain has been issued for Surrey, as the tail end of Storm Barbara sweeps across southern England tonight (Tuesday).
Forecasters are warning of the potential for localised flooding and disruption to travel.
The warning covers the period from 3am through to 2pm tomorrow. Rain is forecast to fall all day, from around 3am right through until 9pm.
Average wind speed will be around 4mph, with gusts of up to 29mph, particularly around lunchtime.
The Yellow warning mean there is potential for disruption to public transport, with bus and train services probably affected and longer journey times. Drivers could be affected by spray and flooding on roads, probably making journey times longer.
Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.
The storm was named Barbara by the Spanish meteorological office.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Frank Saunders said: "We are expecting rain or showers for many areas on Wednesday, possibly heavy and blustery in the South East. It will be quieter on Thursday but more unsettled from Friday, with spells of wet and windy weather moving in from the west."
