Local people cleared away the snow at the front of the ambulance station.

People living near the ambulance station in Catteshall Lane took up their shovels to clear a way for crews as the town was blanketed in snow on Sunday.

The locals turned out to shovel the snow aside and make a safe path for the vehicles and crew members.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service told Nub News: "Our crews were very grateful."

Paramedic and Operational Team Leader Henry Baines said: "It was extremely thoughtful of these individuals to clear the snow from the front of the station. I'd like to thank them on behalf of all our local crews.

"It's things like this which make our long shift a little easier at these challenging times."
