From next Monday, cafes. pubs and restaurants in and around Godalming will be looking to get a boost in trade under the government's 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme.

The scheme offers diners a 50% discount on food and non-alcoholic drinks, up to a maximum of £10 per person.

It has been brought in in an attempt to provide a boost to the struggling hospitality industry.

The venue will deduct the money off the bill and claim it back from the government.

Participating venues will offer the full 50% discount all day Monday to Wednesday, and across the whole food and soft drink menu. There is no limit on how many people can use the discount in one party, and it includes children.

The discount is only available on food and drink that you intend to consume on the premises, and can be used as many times as you like.

Establishments in Godalming and Farncombe that have joined the scheme so far are:

Cafe Mila in Angel Court; Natter Cafe in St John's Street, Farncombe; The Cricketers in Nightingale Road, Farncombe; The Three Lions in Meadrow; Broadwater Pavilion; Thani Moon in Bridge Street; Roost in Wharf Street. Further afield, Squire's Garden Centre and The Refectory in Portsmouth Road, Milford, Milford Golf Club in Station Lane; The Squirrel in, Hurtmore; The Stag on the River at Lower Eashing; Hurtmore Golf Club; The Withies Inn in Compton.

Eat Out to Help Out will run until 31st August in all parts of the country that are not subject to a local lockdown.
