Staff at Godalming Library are welcoming customers again after weeks of lockdown.
Godalming is one of 13 libraries which reopened across the county on Monday (July 6th). Others include Farnham, Guildford and Weybridge.
There are strict new safety measures in place, including a limit on numbers, hand sanitiser for all visitors and a one-way system.
The study areas, meeting rooms and seating areas are also out of bounds. Only two families are allowed in the children's section at one time.
Staff are working at issue desks behind perspex screens, and returned items are being 'quarantined' for 72 hours before going back on the shelves.
Now the doors have reopened, visitors can join the library, return and borrow books, and buy workbooks, stationery and greetings cards.
Services that are not on offer at the moment are:
computers, photocopying, help with bus passes and Blue Badges, glasses and book sales. No newspapers are available. Regular events, including Rhymetime, Science Club and craft activities, have all moved online to Surrey Library's YouTube Channel, where they have welcomed over 230,000 virtual visitors.
