Godalming lights up for Christmas!

Godalming Mayor Penny Rivers has switched on the town's Christmas lights, and local photographer Matthew Gordon was there to capture the moment.
The big switch-on took place at 5pm yesterday (Saturday) and was livestreamed via the town council's social media accounts.
Lighting up the night are twinkling stars in the sky, with ribbons of white adorning shopfronts along the High Street and Church Street.
The town's traditional Christmas lights switch-in event had to be cancelled this year due to Covid, but the festivities will still be marked, albeit in a different way.
Shops and businesses in the town that are unable to open their doors are still open for business with online shopping and click-and-collect.
