Primary schools in Waverley will be able to reopen as planned next week.

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson told the House of Commons this afternoon that secondary schools would have to delay pupils' return to class after the Christmas break, and that some primary schools would also have to remain closed to all but children of critical workers and to those classed as vulnerable.

The government has now published a list of areas where those schools cannot reopen next week: Waverley has not been included, meaning that primary schools in the borough will be able to welcome back pupils as planned.
