The display of festive lights in Catteshall Lane will stay up into the new year, says organiser Richard Atkinson - but only if he meets his fundraising target.

Mr Atkinson has put up a festive display at his home for the past seven years, and has collected thousands of pounds for charity.

This year he is collecting for The Meath, and has raised £435 of his £500 target.

Posting on his Facebook page, Mr Atkinson wrote: "If we can meet the target before 00:01 New Year's Day, we'll keep the lights UP after the Twelfth Night and re-theme them as 'Winter Lights' for the whole of January.

"I mean, we could all do with a bit of light during these dark times, right?"

"We'll keep the fundraising page open during this time too! The donations bucket remains out the front of the display too.

"So, we'll change the display, remove the Santa and the Merry Christmas and add some more lights...

But ONLY if we can beat the target before then."

Mr Atkinson has set up a dedicated fundraising website.
