The Prostate Project has recognised Amy Lou's in Godalming as official Ambassadors to the charity.

Colin Stokes MBE presented a plaque and pin badges to Phillip and Ross Collins to mark their ongoing fundraising for the charity.

Colin said: "Amy Lou's have raised over £5,000 in the last year for The Prostate Project from their collection tins at their shop in Godalming High Street, and we can't tell you how much this means for us.

"At a time when charity donations have fallen dramatically, to have Phil and Ross's jovial and enthusiastic support is priceless."

The Prostate Project is a charity that gives men a better chance of beating prostate cancer, through funding a research team at the University of Surrey and the building of a state of the art Urology Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

A spokesman forthe charty said: "As a volunteer-run charity, 95p in every £1 donated goes directly to the point of need.

"As a result of our work, and that of others around the world, men diagnosed today with prostate cancer are many times more likely to be cured, or at least have their lives significantly extended, than was the case years ago."
