Howling Owl provides coffee and cake for peckish walkers on Holloway Hill
The Howling Owl coffee booth has found a perch at the Holloway Hill Recreation Ground, serving coffees, teas and delicious cakes to take away.
Dan D'Souza, who owns the business jointly with Matt Martin, tells Godalming Nub News the hot drinks and snacks have proved very popular with people out enjoying their daily exercise since the business opened eight weeks ago.
"There are a lot more people out in the parks at the moment. We're really busy at weekends," he says.
"There's a real sense of community, which is needed in such difficult times."
Dan and Matt moved into the coffee business after their fledgling DJ booth business - run from the back of a Land Rover - had to be put on hold last summer due to lockdown.
"It seemed like a good opportunity to get outside and meet an unmet need for the community," says Dan.
This is their first site, and Dan says they are looking for more places to park their quirky horsebox and serve their range of coffees, including latte, cappuccino and Americano, and teas including regular, mint and Earl Grey - and of course, luscious hot chocolate.
If you're feeling peckish (pun intended!) you could try some of the sweet treats on offer, which includes lemon cake made by Matt's mum and gluten-free cookies created by Dan himself.
Howling Owl is open at Holloway Hill from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
