Two new on-call firefighters for Godalming were among nine new officers who started their training with Surrey Fire & Rescue Service this week.

They were greeted on Friday by the service's Chief Fire Officer, Steve Owen-Hughes.

The new recruits are kicking off their training with a residential course, which means that they are staying on station during the week.

As well as at Godalming, the new recruits will be on-call crew at Cranleigh, Gomshall, Lingfield and Oxted fire stations once they have completed their training.
