Now the rules on face masks have changed, and we all have to wear face coverings in shops and other enclosed public spaces, Nub News went out on the street to Take the Temperature of the Town on the matter...

"I am 100% in favour, I think we should have been wearing them for months," said Dawn Hetherington. "I started wearing a mask in April, and I usually wear it when I am out. If people walk by me I cover my face, because if they are asymptomatic they don't know if they have got it. A mask protects me and other people."

Jilly Wood, who was shopping for shoes with her two children, said: "I find it a bit annoying, particularly with kids, because you can't communicate properly, to the point that I wouldn't normally go shopping with them. We haven't been shopping for days but we need to get shoes.

"I personally don't agree with it, though I do have one with me."

Ada Boranegra told Nub News she disliked wearing a mask.

"If people are little bit older and a little bit deaf they look in the mirror sometimes to understand what you are saying. But with a face mask they can't do that," he said. "It's a great challenge."
