Godalming HIgh Street has been closed to traffic again in the runup to Christmas.

The town council has made the move due, it says, to increased footfall as Christmas shoppers head out to visit the town's shops, and more vehicles using the road.

The move will make it easier for people to observe social distancing guidelines.

The Temporary Traffic Order restrictions are in place from today (Monday) until Christmas Eve.

The High Street will be closed to vehicular traffic except buses, deliveries and permit holders between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Shoppers should park in one of the six town centre car parks.
