On December 1st Co-op launched their Community Kindness competition, which encouraged the readers of Godalming Nub News to nominate someone in the community who has shown kindness – no matter how big or how small.
Despite a tough year, our friends, family, neighbours and colleagues across the nation have been helping out where they can. That's why the Co-op are celebrating kindness in our community.
And nominate you did. It's clear there is no lack of kindness in Godalming, with lots of nominations for lots of deserving people.
All the nominations were entered into a draw, with the chance to win a luxury Co-op Christmas hamper worth £50. Amongst other treats, the hamper includes a bottle of Co-op Irresistible Prosecco and delicious chocolate to add to the Christmas festivities.
The winners of Godalming's prize draw are Jessi and Andy Poulsom, who were nominated by Aggie Azoui for being "the most kind and thoughtful neighbours you could wish for".
Aggie said the Poulsoms welcomed her family to the neighbourhood and took care of them. Always offering everything they can share, the Poulsoms are always ready with "a smile or just a kind word".
"This hamper would be just a small recognition for their big hearts," said Aggie.
Despite a difficult year, it's clear that the people of Godalming have pulled together to support one another. Our community is stronger than ever.
Thank you to the Poulsoms for being true local heroes and showing us that when times are tough, it's the small things that make a big difference.
We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
