Godalming's MP, Jeremy Hunt, has led calls for residents to observe the new law that comes into force today (Friday) and wear face coverings in public buildings as well as on public transport.
Face coverings must now be worn in enclosed public spaces, including shops, shopping centres, takeaways, banks and post offices. as well as on buses and trains. The regulations apply to everybody except children under 11 and those exempt on medical grounds, such as people with respiratory or cognitive impairments that make it difficult for them to wear a mask.
